The availability of New Psychoactive Substances, also commonly known as ‘Legal Highs’, has posed a significant challenge over the past few years. This new challenge also raised a number of questions in relation to developing a better understanding of these substances, and preventing their use among young people.
Following a consultation held with a group of experienced practitioners, such as Mentor UK, DrugScope, KCA, Crime Reduction Initiatives (CRI), other local youth and drug treatment services as well as a Youth Offending Team, the Home Office has published a very useful resource pack for informal educators and practitioners.
This resource pack includes:
- Facts and information about NPS
- Case studies on working with young people who use NPS
- Resources to help start conversations about NPS with young people
- References for further help and information
