Since April 2015 we have worked to develop a variety of services to support schools and other education settings, service providers and local authorities to further contribute to young people’s personal development, through social and emotional learning and life-skills education.

Alcohol and drug use is only one of the many risks young people may encounter as they grow up. Educators and commissioners must be able to signpost children and young people towards the most relevant, impactful and appropriate resources. They must be able to help them to develop the knowledge, skills and values needed to overcome challenges and risks they may face and enable them to develop into resilient adults.

The services developed represent resources aimed to support national, regional or local needs, to ensure that effective and interlinked preventative systems are in place in the community. These will be for:

  • Schools and other educational institutions
  • External service providers delivering alcohol and drug education and prevention interventions in educational settings Local authorities

These services are complementary and, when used in combination, could offer a flexible, locally coordinated response to developing effective preventative systems.

Find out more about the services.

The ADEPIS quality assessors will work regionally to support schools, service providers and local authorities improving the quality of their service provision through the use of a set of Quality Standards developed by ADEPIS on the basis of international standards, such as the European Drug Prevention Quality Standards (EDPQS), and the UNODC International Standards on Drug Use Prevention.  Some work will be solicited by assessors through their local and regional contacts and networks and some will be commissioned directly from Mentor from providers, local authorities, etc.
